Didja Miss Me?

Hey, blog peeps! I've thought about y'all so much you wouldn't believe it. I was inspired to update my blog after having coffee with my girlfriend, Gina last week. I told her my biggest blogging obstacle was resizing all of my pictures and she, being the photog genius that she is, told me I could "batch process" my pictures and do them all at once. Woo Hoo! So I'm investigating how to do that in iPhoto and hopefully that's going to result in me blogging more often. I have so many things to tell you all about and so many fun craft projects to share, but for today I'm going to start by sharing a fun fun fun giveaway, cuz who can't use free stuff this time of year?

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama and GameStop are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?
Peace and healthy relationships. Right now there's some "tension" between my dad and me. My wish is for restored relationship.

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?
The kids always wake up SUPER early. We read the Christmas Story from Luke, then we open stockings and gifts and then have waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast.

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?
A Verizon iPhone! Not that decadent, but it's my biggest wish this year.

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?
I have Lisa Whelchel's advent book and it's amazing. It has great ideas of things to do with the kids every day and I love the family "togetherness" it builds. The activities don't usually require any money, but they help keep our focus on the real meaning of Christmas - Christ's birth.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?
A lot of card games. Monopoly, Clue, Mind?? What was the one with the colored pegs and you had to guess the order of the other guy's pegs? Mind something. Oh, and Battleship.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?
The waffles for breakfast on Christmas is a tradition from my childhood. For several years we (anyone who was at our house on Christmas Eve) all went caroling around the neighborhood. The past few years there have only been me, my hubby and kids and my mom, so we haven't done it, but it's something we did when I was a kid and I love it!

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?
Hawaii! I think it would be so fun to spend some time somewhere tropical in the dead of winter!

8. Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?
I think the new Kinect gaming system looks like a blast. I heard a really interesting segment on Science Friday on NPR last week about the science behind it. Fascinating!! My kids have their eyes on the new Toy Story games and I'd love to have the Wii Fit stuff.

For your own chance to win some fun fun stuff, head over to Today's Mama to find out how to enter. Fun times! I hope to be back soon with a "real" blog post. Until then, best wishes for the happiest of Thanksgivings!
