More Baby Pics

I got to see my sister and the precious new little one and I couldn't resist posting just a couple more pictures.  She is the most precious thing and last I heard the name choices were down to Ava and Amelia.
These are the proud parents.  Aren't they beautiful!
Me, my darling sister, and her precious bundle.

This is just cropped from the picture above, but it makes it easier to see the baby.  Thanks for indulging me one more time.

WAIT!  This just in . . . Looks like Amelia won out.  Meet Amelia Marie.  Ok, just one more picture (for today at least!)

Here She Is!

She doesn't have a name yet, but she's only 4 hours old, so we'll cut her a little slack!  Meet my new baby niece!  For those of you who want the details, she weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19 in. long and she was born at 3:09 p.m.  Of course I'll be up there to visit her, and my *ROCK STAR* little sister who delivered her totally naturally (a girl after my own heart), first thing in the morning!  You can bet I'll be back with more pictures tomorrow!

Run 4 Heaven's Gate

My husband is taking part in a fundraiser for Calvary Chapel Boise and has committed to run 4 half-marathons between October 5th and November 1st.  He is looking for people who are willing to sponsor him and contribute to this worthy cause.  The money goes directly to Calvary Chapel Missions India and will be used to care for children and families with HIV/AIDS.  Calvary Chapel Missions India runs a number of orphanages in India.  This one is designed to reach out to children who are dying of HIV/AIDS and who have lost their parents to HIVAIDS.  If you are interested in sponsoring him, you can click on the "email me" link on the left next to my picture and I'll get you the information on where you can send your donation.  There is no administrative overhead, so 100% of your donation goes directly to families affected by HIV/AIDS.  Donations must be made by October 1st.  Thanks for thinking about it.

Mary Jo Price-Williams is also raising funds for a good cause.  You can read more about it at her blog here.

Halloween Club Projects

Ok, while I'm sitting here drumming my nails waiting for a call from the hospital (see this post), I'll post the projects we did at my monthly club last night!

After the Stampin' UP! convention, one of the things demonstrators could pre-order was this Decor Elements Spooky Spider rub-on.  It's so adorable and I've been searching for nearly two weeks for the right size jar for him.  Hopefully we have lots of trick-or-treat-ers this year because this is a seriously enormous jar of candy!
We made two cards last night.  The first was this darling mummy card.  It was SO easy.  I saw the original idea on Dannie Graves' blog here.
We also made this adorable Frankie card.  I've seen lots of cards like this, but I love how Dawn Griffith used the Top Note die on the Big Shot for Frankie's head.  You can see her card here.
The Top Note die is designed to fit perfectly as a cello bag topper on either the small or medium cello bags (depending on how you fold it) so we made some of those too.  We used some of the retired Halloween paper from last year's catalog (because that's what I had on hand) and some of the new Kiwi Kiss striped ribbon.  Yummy!

The last project we did was one of these cute little pillow boxes which are also made with a Big Shot die.  They're super quick and easy to put together and there are about a billion ways to embellish them.  My gals had the choice of the designer paper + ribbon, or the stamped medallion + ribbon.  Everyone's turned out a little different, but all of them were darling.

Ok, now I'm done with my post and still no news on my sister & baby.  Did I mention that she's having a girl?  Oh. My. Word.  Am I ever going to go crazy over this baby.  Last I heard I think the top name choice was Amelila and they were going to call her "Millie".  Not sure how the voting turned out now that she's almost here.  I think I've already purchased one of every pink thing ever made.  I have 3 boys. My brother has 1 boy.  Finally a girl!  Although Christa is my half-sister, even *MY* mom (not Christa's mom) is super excited about this little girl.  I think even she will spoil her.  I guess I'm going to have to go try to stamp something while I wait to try to take my mind off of the whole thing, and keep from worrying!  I'm just remembering that K-dub has a color challenge that ends tonight at 7.  Maybe I can squeeze in a card under the deadline.  I'll be back to share whatever I come up with, and hopefully some baby pictures, later.

I had a dream last night . . .

I had a dream last night that my sister had her baby.  She's due on Wednesday.  So one of the first things I did this morning was call her to tell her about my dream and see how she was doing.  When I finished telling her about my dream she said, "We're at the hospital."  I laughed.  She said, "No, really, we're at the hospital.  My water broke this morning and we're just checking in."  Still, I thought she was kidding.  Apparently she wasn't kidding.  That was at 9:00 this  morning, and now I've been on pins and needles all day worrying about how she's doing.  I tried calling the hospital for an update (yes, I'm a little OCD) and they transferred me to her ROOM!!  The thing I did NOT want to happen.  The nurse said, "They'll call you back" and hung up.  Seriously, I'm about to drive down there and stand outside the room to try to find out how she's doing.  I know they don't want me down there hovering over them, so I'll use the tiny bit of self control I'm clinging to and stay home.  Somehow I thought blogging about it might help.  Not so much.  Although I'm not her mom, I feel like a mother hen.  She's just short of 16 years younger than me and she's always been so dear to my heart.  Say a prayer for her.  She's so beautiful and I'm so proud of her.  Way to go Toots!
